What Makes the Ascent Stand Out Among a Growing Subaru Lineup?

That classic front grille, standard AWD and the inclusion of the Subaru EyeSight safety suite all make sure you know what brand the new 2019 Ascent belongs to, but it also offers its own unique characteristics. The most obvious is the Ascent is the lone three-row, eight-passenger (or seven-passenger, depending on your cabin setup) in the new Subaru lineup here in Boone. Massive amounts of space in the cabin make for comfortable passenger seating in all three rows, while the middle- and third-row seats are easily adjustable to create more room for cargo. While we're not sure you'll ever need them all, another unique feature in the 2019 Ascent is the incredible amount of cupholders - 19 to be exact. Needless to say, you and your family members can always stay hydrated during your travels.

Performance and Safety

A lone engine option is all your Ascent will need for your travels around Wilkesboro, Lenoir and Banner Elk. Its turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder produces 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque, and of course is paired with Subaru's Symmetrical AWD system. For handling tougher, rockier and muddy roads or for northern adventures where you'll come across snow and ice, that AWD system helps you maintain traction and control, keeping you and your loved ones safe.

Speaking of safety, the new Ascent will be the first model in our lineup to feature the Subaru EyeSight suite in its base level. This standard suite includes automated emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-departure warning, features that typically only come in higher trims with other Subaru models or other kinds of three-row SUVs.

Exterior and Interior

The exterior design of the Ascent smartly aligns it with other Subaru models you'll see in our Boone dealership's lot. The Ascent just happens to be larger and longer, looking the part of a luxury SUV with athletic curves, crisp and clear headlights and taillights, and showing off that iconic Subaru grille that tells the rest of the world that you made a smart choice in your vehicle.

Inside, the Ascent is spacious and smartly designed. Seating eight in its base setup, you can also elect the optional second-row captain's chairs, which reduces your passenger capacity to seven. With 20 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row of seats, you'll have ample storage area, while a total of 73 cubic feet is afforded when both the second- and third-row seats are folded down.

The Ascent offers premium amounts of space inside, and that smartly designed cabin is complemented with a wealth of standard and optional tech features, which is what you can expect when you're shopping at our Wilkesboro and Lenoir area Subaru dealership. You'll start off with a 6.5-inch touchscreen (8 inches in the higher trims), smartphone integration, Bluetooth and other handy functions. Moving up to higher trims will add features like a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, navigation, a power liftgate, a sunroof and more.
